      The Senate Transportation Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Bill No. 3349.

      As amended and reported, this bill requires the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (chief administrator), in consultation with the Attorney General, to include in the driver’s manual information regarding the rights and responsibilities of a driver when the driver is stopped by a law enforcement officer.  The bill authorizes the chief administrator to distribute all remaining copies of any existing driver’s manual before reprinting the manual with the new information required by the bill.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amended the bill to incorporate a statutory update.
