SENATE, No. 3234

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Senate Transportation Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 3234.

      As reported, this bill requires the Department of Transportation (department) to maintain the roadways that surround the State capitol complex, including specific sections of West State Street, West Lafayette Street, Barrack Street, and Memorial Drive within the City of Trenton.  Maintenance of these roadways is to include road paving and snow plowing. 

      To assist in fulfilling the bill’s requirements, the bill permits the department to consult or contract with any State agency, county, or municipality that is responsible for maintaining the adjoining portion of the roadways identified in the bill.
