SENATE, No. 693

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 693.

      As reported, this bill prohibits municipalities from requiring approval of a minor site plan or site plan, as defined in P.L.1975, c.291 (C.40:55D-1 et seq.), or an approval required pursuant to the “State Uniform Construction Code Act,” P.L.1975, c.217 (C.52:27D-119 et seq.) that is solely for an improvement to an existing parking lot or parking structure within a commercial zone to provide up to five van accessible parking spaces that meet the criteria established by chapter five of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, or its successor.

      This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 2026-2027 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
