ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 144
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: JUNE 1, 2026
The Assembly State and Local Government Committee reports favorably Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 144.
As reported, this concurrent resolution recognizes the centennial of the Borough of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury was duly incorporated as a borough based on the results of a referendum held on May 11, 1926, as authorized by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 22, 1926. The Borough of Shrewsbury is located in the northeast section of Monmouth County, consists of approximately 2.3 square miles, and is primarily a residential community. It is one of the earliest settlements in Monmouth County and is home to several late 18th to early 20th century homes and churches, including the Christ Church and the Allen House, which were both listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
