ASSEMBLY, No. 5166

      The Assembly State and Local Government Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 5166.

      As reported, this bill prohibits municipalities from requiring approval of a minor site plan or site plan, as defined in P.L.1975, c.291 (C.40:55D-1 et seq.), or an approval required pursuant to the “State Uniform Construction Code Act,” P.L.1975, c.217 (C.52:27D-119 et seq.) that is solely for an improvement to an existing parking lot or parking structure within a commercial zone to provide up to five van accessible parking spaces that meet the criteria established by chapter five of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, or its successor.

      As reported by the committee, Assembly Bill No. 5166 is identical to Senate Bill No. 693, which was also reported by the committee on this date.
