      The Assembly State and Local Government Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 4073.

As reported, this bill extends the date by which the Governor’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget message is to be transmitted to the Legislature to Tuesday, March 10, 2026.  Current law requires the budget message to be transmitted to the Legislature on or before the fourth Tuesday in February.  Similar extensions have been provided in the past for the first budget messages transmitted by other Governors.
