ASSEMBLY, No. 3882
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: MAY 11, 2026
The Senate Education Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 3882 (1R).
This bill requires public schools to post a link to the subsidized school meals application, as well as a link to at least one informational video produced by the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate regarding the school meals application, in a prominent location on the school’s Internet website.
The subsidized school meals application is established in State law to determine eligibility for the National School Lunch Program and the federal School Breakfast Program, as well as State supplements to those programs. In order to receive benefits under the federal programs and State supplements, a parent or guardian is required to complete and submit a subsidized school meals application each school year. This bill would require public schools to post a link to the application on their websites, as well as an informational video produced by the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate.
As reported by the committee, Assembly Bill No. 3882 (1R) is identical to Senate Bill No. 3426, which was also amended and reported by the committee on this date.
