      The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 4276.

This bill requires the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury to award a single contract providing for the purchase by State agencies of services relating to the airing of non-commercial sustaining announcements to a non-profit association representing broadcasters, without publicly advertising for bids, when it determines that to do so is in the best interest of the State, price and other factors considered.  “Non-commercial sustaining announcements” are radio and television public service announcements that promote various programs, including public health and safety campaigns, public education, and public outreach or awareness missions.
