STATEMENT

The annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2025 currently appropriates $1.5 million for Community Security Initiatives.  This bill amends the appropriations act to specifically allocate these funds to the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey for distribution, in equal amounts, to each Jewish Federation located in the State to defray the costs of community security initiatives undertaken by each federation.

In its current form, the annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2025 appropriates these funds to the Jewish Federation of New Jersey.  However, because this is not the official name of an organization, this bill assigns the responsibility for distributing these funds Statewide to the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey.
