OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE SERVICES
The OLS concludes that this bill would increase one-time State costs incurred by the Board of Nursing by up to $75,000 in order to develop the curriculum guidelines for the Nurse Scribe Program. This estimate assumes that one full-time equivalent staff member, earning no more than $90,000, could fulfill this task in six months or less.
Among other things, the board currently accredits nursing schools and ensures that the school’s curriculum meets certain organizational and content standards. Therefore, as an expansion of the board’s existing responsibilities, the OLS does not anticipate any additional costs under the bill in order for the board to approve a school’s Nurse Scribe Program.
