·         The Office of Legislative Services (OLS) concludes that the bill will result in a State expenditure increase of up to $500,000 in the first year the bill is in effect.  If the full $500,000 is not expended in the first year, the residual amount will be spent in the two subsequent fiscal years until the full $500,000 is exhausted.

BILL DESCRIPTION

This bill would create a three-year pilot program intended to strengthen school leadership ranks by training and mentoring new school supervisors in a yearlong program.  To accomplish this, the bill requires the department to develop guidelines for the pilot program based upon the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders and enter into a partnership with a nonprofit organization, with expertise in providing professional mentoring services to school leaders, to administer the program.  Finally, the bill would appropriate $500,000 to implement the pilot program.
