SENATE, No. 2948

with Senate Floor Amendments

ADOPTED: OCTOBER 28, 2024

      These floor amendments:

· Provide that only registered design professionals or employees with certified fire escape contractors are authorized to install, service, repair, inspect, and maintain fire escapes;

· Adds definitions for "fire escapes," "fire escape contractors," and "registered design professionals" to existing law; 

· Clarifies that fire escapes and exterior stairways are not considered fire protection equipment; and

· Removes all amendments that the bill previously made to P.L.1975, c.217.
