ASSEMBLY, No. 6276

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED:  JANUARY 8, 2026

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 6276 (1R).

As reported, this bill amends the annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2026 to reassign the distribution of certain State aid appropriated for the Ivy Hill Park.

Specifically, the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations act provided $250,000 in State aid to the City of Newark for an Ivy Hill Park Community Center.  The bill amends this line-item appropriation to reassign the distribution of funds to the County of Essex which owns and operates the park for public use.  The bill also provides that these funds may be used for general improvements to the Ivy Hill Park and would not be limited to expenses for a community center.  This bill does not increase appropriations in the Fiscal Year 2026 annual appropriations act.

As reported by the committee, Assembly Bill No. 6276 (1R) is identical to Senate Bill No. 5020, which was also reported by the committee on this date.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This bill is not certified as requiring a fiscal note.
