ASSEMBLY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
STATEMENT TO
ASSEMBLY, No. 6276
with committee amendments
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: DECEMBER 18, 2025
The Assembly Appropriations Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 6276.
As amended, this bill amends the annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2026 to reassign the distribution of certain State aid appropriated for the Ivy Hill Park.
Specifically, the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations act provided $250,000 in State aid to the City of Newark for an Ivy Hill Park Community Center. The bill amends this line-item appropriation to reassign the distribution of funds to the County of Essex which owns and operates the park for public use. The bill also provides that these funds may be used for general improvements to the Ivy Hill Park and would not be limited to expenses for a community center. This bill does not increase appropriations in the Fiscal Year 2026 annual appropriations act.
COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:
The committee amendments reassign the distribution of $250,000 in State aid appropriated for Ivy Hill Park to the County of Essex which owns and operates the park for public use. As introduced, the bill originally assigned distribution of these funds to the City of Newark.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This bill has not been certified as requiring a fiscal note.
