with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 5762.

      As amended and reported, this bill amends current law to require the North Jersey Passenger Advisory Committee and the South Jersey Passenger Advisory Committee to each hold four public meetings a year.  The bill also amends current law to require each committee to provide public notice of the time and location of a meeting at least seven days prior to the meeting, which notice is to be posted on the New Jersey Transit Corporation’s (corporation) Internet website.  Under current law, these committees provide advice, input, and guidance to the corporation.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amended the bill to make certain technical changes, including, but not limited to, changes to clarify that the bill’s requirements extend to both the North Jersey Passenger Advisory Committee and the South Jersey Passenger Advisory Committee.
