      The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 5606.

The annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2025 currently appropriates $500,000 for a grant for the Meals on Wheels Program.  This bill amends the appropriations act to specifically allocate these funds to the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey.

     In its current form, the annual appropriations act for Fiscal Year 2025 appropriates these funds to the Jewish Federation of New Jersey.  However, because this is not the official name of an organization, this bill assigns the responsibility for distributing these funds to the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey as intended.

      As reported by the committee, Assembly Bill No. 5606 is identical to Senate Bill No. 4474, which was also reported by the committee on this date.
