      The Assembly Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 4937.

      As amended by the committee, this bill permits a medical cannabis dispensary to establish satellite locations.

      Under current law, pursuant to P.L.2019, c.153, a medical cannabis dispensary is prohibited from establishing a satellite location.  However, the enactment permits an alternative treatment center to open a satellite location.

      As amended, the bill provides that a medical cannabis dispensary may establish two satellite locations, and requires a medical cannabis dispensary to obtain approval from the Cannabis Regulatory Commission prior to establishing any satellite location.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amended to bill to authorize a medical cannabis dispensary to operate up to two satellite locations, instead of one such location per the bill as introduced.
