      The Assembly State and Local Government Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 3946.

This bill authorizes the State Treasurer, on behalf of the Department of Children and Families, to sell and convey property located at 1600 Brooks Boulevard in the Township of Hillsborough, Somerset County.  The property contains 4.3 acres of land and improvements.  The property is to be sold to the Borough of Manville for the appraised value of $870,000.  If the property is not sold to the borough, then the property is to be sold through an Internet auction, with a minimum bid price of $870,000.

     The property is considered surplus to the needs of the State.

     The State House Commission will set the terms and conditions of the sale and conveyance. 

     The property is the former site of the Hillsborough Social Services Office of the Department of Children and Families.  The property is next to the Manville High School.
