      The Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 2983.

      This bill prohibits health insurers, third party administrators, and the State Health Benefits Program and the School Employees’ Health Benefits Program from requiring the pre-approval or precertification of prenatal ultrasound screenings covered under a health benefits plan.

      This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 2024-2025 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
