      The Assembly Science, Innovation and Technology Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 2345.

      As reported, this bill amends several statutes to provide that a gift includes all forms of virtual currency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).  Under this bill, a public official would be prohibited from accepting any form of virtual currency or NFTs as a gift under certain circumstances.

      This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 2024-2025 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
