ASSEMBLY, No. 1715
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: MAY 22, 2025
The Senate Higher Education Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 1715 (2R).
This bill requires each public institution of higher education to invite the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey on the institution’s campus.
This bill provides that at least once per semester, and as often as the institution determines to be appropriate, a public institution of higher education is to invite and facilitate the presence of the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey on the institution’s campus for the purpose of providing information and resources relevant to compulsive gambling. The resources are to include information regarding the potential risks associated with gambling, compulsive gambling counseling services, and options for gambling self-exclusion programs.
As reported by the committee, Assembly Bill No. 1715(2R) is identical to Senate Bill No. 3184, as amended, which was also reported by the committee on this date.
