ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

ASSEMBLY, No. 551

with Assembly Floor Amendments

      This floor amendment:

      (1)  removes language that requires certain home improvement contracts to be signed by a licensed home improvement contractor and contain the licensed home improvement contractor’s license number;

      (2)  permits a consumer to waive the right to cancel a home improvement contract for emergency restoration services if the consumer signs an emergency authorization form, which is to include a cost estimate of the emergency restoration services; and

      (3) defines “emergency restoration services” and “goods.”
