SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 21

 

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee reports favorably Senate Joint Resolution No. 21.

     This joint resolution designates October 11 as the "Day of the Girl" in New Jersey to raise public awareness about the "International Day of the Girl Child" and galvanize the support of the citizens of, and community-based organizations in, the State to help better girls' lives and provide them with equal opportunities to reach their full potential.  The resolution respectfully calls on the governor to annually issue a proclamation recognizing the day and calling upon public officials, the citizens of the State, and other interested groups to observe the day with appropriate activities and programs.

      This resolution was pre-filed for introduction in the 2022-2023 session pending technical review.  As reported, the resolution includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
