with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED:  JUNE 27, 2022

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Bill No. 2017 (1R).

As amended by the committee, this bill would appropriate from the General Fund to the Department of Human Services the sum of $813,000.  The bill requires the Department of Human Services to use the funds to implement the use of electronic benefits transfer cards by persons participating in the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.

As reported by the committee with amendments, Senate Bill No. 2017 (2R) is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2364 (2R), which was also reported by the committee on this date, with amendments.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

The committee amendments change the bill into a general appropriation act. As originally introduced, the bill was a supplemental appropriation to the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, P.L.2021, c.133.

The committee amendments revise the title and synopsis to reflect this change.
