      The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Bill No. 2017.

     As amended by the committee, this bill would make a supplemental appropriation for State Fiscal Year 2022 of $813,000 to the Department of Health (DOH).  The bill would direct the DOH to utilize the funds to implement the use of electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards by persons participating in the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).

     As reported by the committee with amendments, Senate Bill No. 2017 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2364 (1R), which was also reported by the committee on this date.

 

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amendments increase the amount of the supplemental appropriation under the bill from $800,000 to $813,000.  The amendments revise the synopsis of the bill to reflect these changes.
