      The Senate Law and Public Safety Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 461.

     As reported by the committee, this bill would require New Jersey’s Commissioner of Health to certify emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who are certified in other states, provided that the standards of state in which the EMT is certified exceed or are equivalent to New Jersey’s certification standards.

      As reported by the committee, Senate Bill No. 461 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 831, which also was reported by the committee on this date.

      This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 2022-2023 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
