ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTION No. 171

with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Assembly Women and Children Committee reports favorably Assembly Joint Resolution No. 171 with committee amendments.

      As amended by the committee, this joint resolution permanently designates the first full week of April as the “Week of the Young Child” in New Jersey to recognize the importance of high-quality early childhood education that is affordable and accessible and to advance the child care and early childhood education professions.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amendments remove a provision requiring the resolution to be transmitted to the New Jersey Association for the Education of Young Children.

      The committee amendments update references to the National “Week of the Young Child” to reflect the date the week will be celebrated in 2023.

      The committee amendments make various technical changes concerning grammar and usage.
