      The Assembly Labor Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 4740.

      This bill requires the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to provide to an individual, upon the individual’s request, the employment records of that individual free of charge.  Specifically, the department is required to provide wage, employment, and unemployment compensation records and information, and any other records related to that individual’s employment maintained by the department.

      The bill requires the department to undertake the electronic transmission of an individual’s wage, employment, and unemployment compensation records and information, and any other records related to that individual’s employment maintained by the department, upon the request of that individual, to any third party or vendor authorized under the bill.

      The department is permitted to contract with third parties to effectuate the provisions of the bill.
