ASSEMBLY CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

STATEMENT TO

ASSEMBLY, No. 4065

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED:  NOVEMBER 14, 2022

The Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 4065.

As reported, this bill allows burglar alarm, fire alarm, and locksmithing businesses to provide an Internet website address in advertisements in order to indicate to the public the license number of the business and its employed professionals.

Currently, businesses in these industries are required to include the license number of the business and any professional in advertisements. If an Internet website address is used in advertisements instead of the license number, the license number is to be presented in a clear and conspicuous manner on the Internet website.
