ASSEMBLY, No. 1581

      The Senate Transportation Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 1581.

      As reported, this bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (commission) to provide at all official motor vehicle inspection facilities, a toll-free customer service telephone number.  A person may use the telephone number to report to the commission any technical problems the person experiences at an official inspection facility and the commission is required to provide reasonable assistance to a person calling the toll-free customer service telephone number.

      As reported, Assembly Bill No. 1581 is identical to Senate Bill No. 3880, which was also reported by the committee on this date.
